Funnies
I saw these 2 "funnies" over at Girl Talk and just HAD to share them. They were posted separately, but they sure go well together!
She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her. She said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed.
The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor girl he knew. She did this for the whole week. As the two walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy's little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week.
Finally she said to Timmy, 'Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week? Do you know her?'

Family Harmony
Not a whole lot going on here worth blogging about. I have 2....TWO...blocks left to quilt on the Hidden Star. It will be finished by this time tomorrow. SO glad to be done with this one. It will be bound and washed and put up for Christmas.
Meet my new best friends.....
My son's friend has chickens (the exact ones in the picture) which produce the most wonderful organic eggs. His prices are much cheaper than the stores, and they are the nicest eggs! Clean, and fresh and so good! Some of you have asked me what is "eating clean". I will be honest. I have not quite figured it all out yet, and I am by no means eating completely clean....I still love my Road Ranger Diet Coke, and my Splenda and powdered creamer laden decaf coffee.....I know those are ALL LOADED with plastics and chemicals, but I am taking small steps to cleaning up my diet. Organic eggs, lots of fresh veggies and berries (I am not eating any other fruits just yet) and some grass fed beef straight off the farm are helping me. I am not eating breads, pastas, potatoes, or any sugar at all. I did have a cream-filled, chocolate covered Long John from Swiss Maid Bakery....they are to die for...literally, I think you can die from them they are SO bad for you, but they taste SO good. Anyway, I felt the effects of that Long John for 3 days!! No more. UGH...it was not worth it.
Well, like I said...nothing worth blogging about. Without going into detail, prayers for family harmony are appreciated this time of year. It has been a rough season already. I find that I am less and less compassionate and patient with each year...I tend to actually get a bit ticked off about the whole ordeal. Not a flattering commentary on myself....Pray for me in this.
No pics of Sass this time, but let me tell you, she is a joy to have around. I can pick her up and have her purring "I love you" 's in a matter of seconds. For not being a real cat person, she sure has stole my heart....silly cat!
I want to leave you with some wonderful sounds....I have this CD on my list....WONDERFULLY uplifting music!!

Roto Rooter, That's The Name!!!
That was my day today. Last night my kitchen sink backed up and it was a nightmare. Sweetheart did everything possible....he tore everything apart, plunged, poured Drano, plunged some more, shop vac'd, plunged again, snaked, plunged again. Finally we called Roto Rooter. They were here in 20 minutes and had it draining in 15. They had to snake it out 40 ft. The culprit??.....I got a huge scolding for putting rice and coffee grounds down the disposal. Why the heck have one if you can't use it? He told me to not put anything down there smaller than a basketball. The Roto Rooter guy is not a fan of disposals!!!!
Before the drain clogged up yesterday, I had a chance to clean out my baking center. I also keep our medicines on the top shelf of this cupboard. Here is the before pic.I know my sweet mother-in-law is cringing as she looks at this. LOL See, Dianne....it is all organized and tidy once again.
The shelves all got a good scrubbing and everything was put back where it belonged.
I was inspired by this clean cupboard to bake something.....
Whole wheat, sugar free, oatmeal cinnamon muffins. They did not look all that different after they came out of the oven.
The kids LOVED them, (Emerson included), but they really did taste just like they looked. Heavy and Blah! I will tweak the recipe next time for sure.
Today was spent with my mom. I always look forward to those days. Tomorrow, Kyle has an eye doctor appointment. He needs glasses!!! Here he is cuddling with Sass. She sure loves Kyle, and he really loves her!!! Sassy got into my cone of thread that is set up at my sewing machine. She got it hooked in between her teeth and strung thread from that cone all over the basement. What a mess! The cone was still in place, she just drug the thread with her like a runaway fishing line off a pole! ( I know this is dangerous for her and promise to watch her more closely in my sewing room. She has never gotten on my table before!)
I guess that is all I have to share. We are expecting our lye tomorrow, so hopefully we will be making soap over the weekend. I will come back and share with you all!
