Life With A Little Sass Giveaway

To celebrate my new place, I thought I would have a giveaway. Your odds are good since only a handful of you even know I am here. It will be simple....leave a comment on this post and you get your name put in. No other hoops. Just leave a comment.
What is the prize? Gosh I just don't know. I will put together a package specially made for the winner. I will tell you this much....there will be a hand quilted item in the package. How's that?
I will draw the winner on Monday morning, April 5th.
Thank you again for all your support!

Flower Power

Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments on the Pink and Brown quilt. It was a peaceful sleep I had last night! With the hoop empty and nothing in my hands, I thought I would go crazy! I looked at my 2010 goals list (on my sidebar) and saw that I had the applique border for the Underground railroad quilt still unfinished. Now this has been on my "list" almost as long as the Pink and Brown. I prepped more base flowers and off I went.
I thought Sassy was partial to the Pink and Brown, but I found she really does not care what quilt it is....if it is a quilt and it is out, she will claim it!We had to battle over this one. She was not willing to give it up! We finally compromised and I was able to get some flowers appliqued while watching television last night. It is going to be a busy time until next week, so I am happy to have hand work for my evenings. I do not see being able to machine sew until after Easter. I am hosting Easter here again this year, though we are doing a cook out instead of a formal dinner. I am thrilled about that! TJ and Emerson will be here Friday night and go home Saturday night. Because of that, we will color eggs on Friday and have our hunt on Saturday morning. Next year they will be here Easter day. We were able to have TJ's 5th birthday party a couple of weeks ago.It was lots of fun and he had a great time. Much family and friends, wonderful food and cake and presents. What more could a 5 year old want?Little Emerson had fun too!!! She is such a beauty queen! She is losing that "baby look" and looking more like a little girl. I am anxious to see them. We had them 3 weekends in a row and now it has been a week and a half so it feels like forever. Just a few more days.....
My little guys have been working hard in school. Charlotte is doing exceptionally well this year. Much better than years past. Zach is doing great too, except on days he just does not want to do it at all. Those days are hard, but I always win and in the end so does he, because his school work got done! Today they had a nice surprise. Debi sent them new Spring time pillow cases. They are wonderful! Thank you so much, Debi!!!She also included a gift for me....some Gutermann threads (already in my thread case) and some charm squares from the Moda line "Ruby's Flower Garden".They are beautiful. I can't wait to use them. I am thinking they will find their way into some of my Libby Quilts.
That is all for today. It sure feels good to be back. We may need to celebrate....how about a giveaway? Sounds good to me. Come back soon and I'll see what I can do.
(No, I am not giving away Sassy!)

In All It's Glory

It is finally finished. Goodness, this was a long project. Almost 4 years in the making. Most of the work was done in the last few months though. I am just thrilled with the texture. Isn't it wonderful.....I know you have seen this a thousand times, but this last parade of pictures is a celebration! It is finally on my bed!Sweetheart even took me out and bought a new tan dust ruffle, dark brown pillowcases, and new dark brown curtains. This made it all match. I still need covers for those night tables....the green does not go well, but I am not complaining!
Soon a fresh coat of paint will finish off our new room. I went with the brown and tan because the other 2 quilts I have in the works for this room both have brown in them. I notice most of my quilts have brown in them! Hmmmmm. Not to mention the fact that all the extra brown takes away from a more feminine looking room....not that Sweetheart cares.
We can't end the celebration without a look at the back......Of course Sass had to have a seat! She is not happy about the empty hoop. She kept climbing in it last night. Wonder what she was thinking? Well, I really have nothing ready to go in there so I am kinda lost. I need to get the next project ready as soon as possible. That would be the Hidden Star.It looks pink and brown too, but it is actually red and brown. See....more brown. It is in blocks and still needs a handful of blocks yet before I can put it all together. This is my oldest son's quilt. His birthday is June 22nd so I have a deadline. In the meantime, I need to make up a little sample for a hand quilting class I am teaching. My hoop will not stay empty for long!
Thanks for all of your well wishes and kind words regarding the new blog. Please know that no one offended me, nor was anyone rude or hurtful. Anyone who ever visited Pieces From Me was nothing but kind and gracious. It is all my own personal "stuff" and this fresh new beginning was just what I needed. Tonight I will sleep under the Pink and Brown knowing life is going to get better.
See you soon!!!

A Fresh Start

Welcome to "Life With A Little Sass"!

As most of you know, Sassy is my cat. She has made life here much brighter, I must admit! I started this blog as a fresh start. "Pieces From Me" has run it's course. It was a place for me to share my life, document family history and make some incredible friendships. Lately though, I have felt unable to share my heart. My son's divorce has crippled us, but not destroyed us, yet Pieces From Me was a casualty. Though I will leave the blog up for history's sake, I will not be announcing "Life With A Little Sass" over at Pieces From Me. It may take some of you a while to find me here and if I do not have your email, you may never find me. Still, I am moving on. It feels good to have a place to be myself again.
I am thrilled to share that I will be finishing up the Pink and Brown quilt tonight. I have one side of binding to put on and it is completely finished.I had much company while finishing up this quilt. I am certain that Sassy thinks it is her quilt! She came running every time I pulled it out.
Again, welcome to my new place. I will have pictures of the Pink and Brown up in the next day or two. Come often and please share your comments with me!

Blessings, Bren
