Quilting and Kids

The title of my post contains my 2 favorite things!! Quilting on the Hidden Star has started. I am afraid it will not be the enjoyable experience I anticipated. The quilting does not show up on the busy-ness of the fabric. Once it is finished the texture will be striking as it will be pretty heavily quilted, but during the process, there will not be much pay off.
I had the grandbabies over the weekend. They spent Friday night here and on Saturday, Bud took all the older kids (TJ, Kyle, Charlotte, and Zach) bowling while Emerson took her nap. We also did a bit of puppy sitting for the neighbor.
Lambeau is a boxer/beagle....a boogle. He is sitting so nice there waiting for TJ to throw that toy, but don't let that fool you! He is a bundle of energy. One of those pups that runs with his tongue hanging out and waving in the wind!! The kids enjoyed him for the afternoon.
The sandbox is a big hit here. I almost got rid of it this year but I am glad I didn't.TJ is doing great in baseball. I can not believe how big he is getting. He will start school in the fall.Emerson is talking like crazy. She calls me "ma". Too lazy to say Grandma. She kept saying, "mon ma, play." translated, "Come on Grandma, play with me." I could not resist her!I also debated on whether or not to move the swing set to my son's yard! Just when I think I should, this happens.Maybe next year.
I was able to finish Rose Marie's giveaway prize. Yes, it took a looong time. I pray she thinks it was worth the wait. I will show a picture after she gets it. It will go out tomorrow. I could not get a decent pic anyway. Look what happens when I lay it out......That is all for now. Have a blessed hump day!!!

I know about not being able to resist those little requests...like Watch Gramma...as she jumps or tries to do jumping jacks or runs "really" fast LOL. Hey, you are never to old to swing, I did it the other day and loved it LOL.

What a fun weekend with those cute grandbabies!

Sass cracks me up. She is a true "quilters cat". What a blessing she must be to you.

Sneak n every hug and kisss you can while they are little. When they grow up they are stingy with them. After you get the quilting done it may fool you at the effect it has. Chris

do not let her close her other blog. it is her way of venting and healing. i am the mom with the rad daughter who read the blog. she can be blocked and she is losing her facebook account. i found she had befriended some strange people.
please tell her not to close.

LOL ..... that happens a lot with my girls too .... they need to be on top of every quilt. When I was working on making your hanging, many years ago, Ashes kept getting in the way and moving my applique pieces around with a swish of her bushy tail. Now, I know that the quilt I'm getting is Sass approved.

Your grandkids are growing up so fast and it is a good thing to go outside and play with them.
