Look who came to see me!! We had the grandkids overnight. Today was a beautiful day, weather wise as you can see in the picture, but yesterday afternoon and evening was very dark. I mention this cause these next pics are terrible....my camera is not the best....it may actually be the worst, but you will get the idea.
Blueberry Icee will do that! Only at Grandma's house!!
Since we could not play out in the thunder and lightening, we curled up and read Adam Raccoon books. My kids and grands LOVE these books!!! TJ wants to read them every time he is here!.JPG)

It was so fun to see them. 2 weeks is a long time. I was use to seeing them several times a week and now....well I can't dwell on that.
On the quilting front, I finished the Hidden Star top.
My 6' 2" son, Kyle, is holding it up for me and it is still hitting the floor. I think it is a good curl-up-on-the-couch size quilt! In some of the pics it appears pink and brown. It is not. (thank goodness cause I am pink and browned out!) It is actually a deep rusty red and brown. Very masculine looking. Now to get it basted.
I did some more machine piecing today. I got some of the prep done for Emerson's teeny tiny 9 patches. They are so cute....I need 42 of these 3 inch blocks before I move on to the next step.
We are not expecting any more storms here, though I will be praying for my friends in Missouri and the south eastern states. It is suppose to get nasty again for them.
Just a note on my last post....I would never give Charlotte that letter....it is meant to blow off steam and it does help to know someone else out there is feeling the same frustrations you are. Craziness is contagious!!! I like to stay away from it as much as possible, but sometimes it lives with you and you can not escape it. (the crazy behavior...not Charlotte)

Awww! Those sweet babies really look like they are having a ball at your house!! I know that you love having them!! That quilt is beautiful, I love it! and hey, blowing off steam is a good thing!! If we didnt do that every now and again we would ALL be in some trouble!!

I totally understand about your last post - letting off steam and all that. We wouldn't say these things to our loved ones, but sometimes they have to be said to someone!

Oh Bren, the kids are so dang cute...even with bed head LOL. The quilt is WONDERFUL, will be a good size for Kyle to roll up in on the couch since he's such a big guy :0)

Bren, I'm so glad you had a good weekend with the grandkids. I know they love coming there as much as you love having them. Your hidden star quilt is beautiful. Now the quilting begins. (grin) Emerson's little quilt will be so cute. I love nine patch blocks, so simple, yet so cute. Have a wonderful Sunday. It was sprinkling here a few minutes ago, but the sun is shining right now. Want to hear something weird? I have discovered I love to baste quilts! Yep, it is my favorite part of the entire quilting process.
If we lived closer together, I would volunteer to baste all your quilts, if you would quilt all of mine. LOL
What a treat to have your sweet grandbabies for the wkd. I have told you - your quilting is amazing. I am in awe of all that you do.
