Our Easter weekend was beautiful. It started Friday when the grandbabies came for an overnight. We spent the gorgeous day outside.....well, some of us.
Someone had to stay inside and try to catch bugs through a screen!
The rest of us had fun playing in the great outdoors. Sidewalk chalk is always a favorite.

Remember when you still had the freedom to do this......
.....for absolutely no apparent reason???? Ahhh, to be young again!
Speaking of young, Emmie loved the backyard!
She spotted Paw Paw's lawn mower which just got cleaned up and ready for another year. She thought it looked very interesting.
She looked at it and then looked up at me and said "Owie". I told her, "Yes, that part is an owie." She moved on to the front....smart kid.
It will be a few years!

We had our "Easter Morning" on Saturday, as the kids had to go back to mom on Saturday night. The kids chose to fill plastic eggs with candy instead of coloring eggs. It was the first Easter in 28 years I did not color eggs. Is it terrible that I did not miss it????.JPG)

Saturday morning's hunt was such fun. Emerson loved it!!
Mmmmmmmm. M&M's for breakfast!
Zach hit the jackpot!
It was a great weekend. We celebrated Easter Day with my family. Mom, Dad, my sister and her family, my Aunt and her family, and all 4 of my children. We cooked steak, burgers, brats, chicken, and hot dogs on the grill. Potato salad, baked beans, mac and cheese, fruit, veggies, chips & dip, and carrot cake, brownies, and pineapple pudding cake were all enjoyed! I am still full! Sad part is, I did not take ONE picture of that day. I kicked myself later. I was so busy and enjoyed myself so much that I forgot completely.
Our Easter weekend was so beautiful, weather-wise, but the last couple of days have been stormy. Night before last, we were hit with 70 mph winds with gusts up to 90 mph and quarter size hail. The rain was massive and it was a bit tense for a while. It past quickly, but then we had another 2 rounds, not as severe as the first, but certainly warning level. Today it looks stormy again. That is ok....April showers bring May flowers, right?
Stormy days are great for sewing. I am hoping to be able to get some more flowers on the UGRR sampler. Only 8 more to go and then on to the leaves. Sassy has kept me company. It seems that she is drawn to any facet of quilting....even the hard box of threads become a comfort to her!!!
Thanks for visiting! Praying your Easter weekend was as blessed as mine!
Blessings, Bren

We didn't dye eggs either and this year we went out for lunch. I started to say no leftovers but Honey Bear and I did bring some home from the restaurant. It was a different kind of Easter day altogether..the important this was attending worship and remembering the reason we celebrate. Now, I have to put away the Easter decorations for another year and figure out what I want to use instead.

Sounds like you had a wonderful Easter! Your food sounds so good!! We didnt color eggs either...last year Cade was the only one that wanted to and this year he didnt want to! I didnt miss the mess but it was a little sad.
I love stormy Spring weather..EXCEPT when the storms get too severe!! I don't even want to think about tornado season!!
Have a great day!

We had a real lay back one too. No meal even we all went out after church. I even bought a desert to take to the folks. The kids cheated on the egg hunt their elderly grandpa did so it lost all of the fun of it for me.
They snuck out and located them. I told them it was then finished and I was disappointed. Told them how hard that must of been for the elder to hide them. The elder blew it off that was a disappointment too. What are they learning by that one:)
It was a real lay-back day.
I am going for an xray this morning again for the 4th time since January I may have pneumonia again! Testing to see if my immune system is alright is underway. The stress is taking too much a toll doing the emdr so I have stopped until May as to get my health stronger.
They may do a ct to check for the pulmonary fibrosis that my sister just died from.
All that is just trying to scare me.
inch by inch. I am backing out of the art master presentations today. My plate is full but to go hang out with the school kids is not wise with my chest in so much pain. Do not want to catch anything else.
We didn't color eggs either and I missed it... we didn't even have an easter egg hunt... next year we are hoping to be closer and we will dye eggs and have a big ol'hunt..
You had a great Easter.. what a ton of food...
What fun!
Looks like you had a full weekend! We had rain and wind storms here last week. I don't know if that was the same system that hit you, but it was crazy windy and rainy, sometimes a little scary. Now we're back to just plain ol' Vancouver rain.
Sweet pictures of those kids and grands!! LOVED the picture of your pretty, painted toes in sandals!! My feet were bundled up in socks and sneakers for Easter weekend. It was cold and stormy. This California girl is seriously looking forward to flip-flop weather!
And about that Sass....I think the draw to your quilts and quilting supplies is you. She loves you and you love quilting, so your quilting things are her favorites.
We actually didn't do any of the usual "easter" stuff. No egg hunt, no dying eggs, etc. we have been dealing with some medical stuff, ours and my mil, and I just didn't have the energy. we did have a nice meal with family, and we recited bible verses to them :)
God Bless

What a lovely weekend you had Bren. We still didn't have power, so I grilled pork chops, baked potatoes and corn on the cob on the BBQ.....Very Yummy!!
Crispy
Bren, you had a wonderful Easter weekend. Ours was nice but unusual for us. We didn't have a get together this year, but Isaiah and Madison came out. So I got to spend all afternoon playing with one of our grandbabies. Kevin and I grilled burgers and hot dogs. The first BBQ of the season and it was so good! I hope you are having a great day, my friend. Winona
Thinking of you today. I'm sure your Easter was bittersweet.
Love you, friend.
Your grandbabies are so precious. I imagine it was a wonderful wkd with them.
Sass is a true quilters cat!! so sweet.
