I have been trying to get a sewing day for more than 2 weeks. I plan it out and something always ends up stopping me. Add to that homeschool and housework and it is close to impossible to get more than a few minutes at my machine at any given time. I decided today to bring up my machine and other tools and have a real sewing day....this would make it possible. When Sweetheart saw what I was doing, he said, "Why not set up a table in the livingroom and then you can just stay set up and won't have to tear everything down." Goodness....if you knew Sweetheart you would be picking yourself up off the floor!!!
By the time I got set up, he was back with my 64 oz. Road Ranger Diet Coke!

MUCH sewing has gotten done today and I have several hours left to sew. Homeschool got done, and nothing was sacrificed in order to have my time at the machine. Oh, and the lighting is AWESOME!!!!!!
Of course this is temporary until I turn the new project into a top. But then....I do have the Pine Ridge that is half way pieced, and the UGRR needs it's last set of borders......we'll see.
My view to the left is looking out onto the front yard.
You can't see it because of the glare, but this is what I get to look at......
Kyle.....outside raking leaves!!!! I love that boy!
I received some early birthday gifts (I meet 50 early next week). Sweetheart sent me on a shopping trip to the quilt shop. I got the fabrics I mentioned the other day for my new project, but also I grabbed this book...
I love every pattern in this book!!! That is rare.
I also got a package in the mail from Winona!!! What a surprise! She made me a beautiful Bow Tucks bag! I have seen the ones she has been making on her blog and was THRILLED to get one from her.
She has such high quality of work.....Kyle said, "Now that's art!" LOL I was on the phone with Winona when he said it, and she said, "I knew I liked that boy!"
The inside is wonderful. FULL of pockets and just as beautiful as the outside. I took a pic, but mine was too dark, so I stole this one from Winona's blog....mine has coffee cups instead of polka dots on the inside, otherwise it is the same.
It is a nice size bag and I already have all my "stuff" switched over from my purse to this bag. I can't wait to use it tomorrow!
I better get back to my machine before daylight is gone. We had a huge sleet storm a while ago and everything is cold and dreary now from the bright sunshine that brought the day. My view is no longer what Sassy is enjoying in this picture. No matter. Sewing upstairs with the family is what I am most thankful for today.

It is so nice when something like this comes together, isn't it? so glad you were able to sew and homeschool and enjoy the sunshine this week.
LOVE the purse!!!
Heh heh...I forgot we share a birthday month! Mine's the 14th. I have a BD dinner with the family next Tues and I got to request the menu - YUM! I picked things that we aren't eating on our diet! I'm no fool! LOL!
Stay warm up there. We are getting our first cold front tonight - so it will be in the mid-60s tomorrow - brrrrrr for this Florida girl. :)

Happy early birthday, sweet friend. I won't be here to greet you next week.
How precious your hubby offered you a permanent spot to work ... & your soda ready to go.
Love your view, Bren.
Haven't heard from you for so long ...
Have a lovely eve ~

Happy Early Birthday and congrats on getting some sewing time in and some wonderful gifts!
My goodness, look how big that cat is getting.
The temperature was in the 60s here today.
You know my dining room is where my studio is but we don't use it to dine in. I know you like your basement room but it is away from the action and I can see where you'd feel isolated. Love the bag! Happy Birthday.

Glad that your temp. space has worked for you and your family .... I am truly blessed with my studio and DH just came back from buying me some more storage towers and I've been sorting more of my scraps today.
I love Kim Diehl books and will have to buy her new one.
That is a lovely purse that you have.
Loved seeing photos of the grandkids ... they sure are growing up way too fast.
Hi Bren!
How wonderful your hubby is! He sounds like mine - always wanting to make it easier for me and make me happy!
I LOVE your new bag! Oh my. I think I need one of those! LOL
Happy Birthday! You know we share the same birthday - although - I'm a year behind you. :) I'm going to be getting an MRI on my birthday - oh joy! I hope you have a wonderful and awesome day!
Praying for you!
Love, Julie
Ahh, Bren, you have me blushing with all your kind words about the bag I made you. I am just glad you love it. I figured you'd love coffee cups and polka dots. (grin) I love your little sewing corner. Nothing like sewing with lots of natural light. Is Sassy really that wide, or is it the angle of the camera? LOL If she is, that young lady may need to run up and down the stairs a few more times. LOL That book looks interesting. I think I will look it up on Amazon. Not like I don't have lots of quilting books, but sometimes, I just can't resist. (grin) Have a great weekend, my dear friend. Kevin says we are going to work hard to get the winterizing done this weekend. Winona
love the pattern in that book. Do you still have your quilting frame set up in your living room and if you do how do you like it. Did you ever order the paddle thimble?
