#1...pour before it gets too thick. It makes a nicer formed bar.
#2....add twice as much essential oils.
#3....Coconut Oil is one of God's greatest creations!
The bar makes a nice lather...the scent is a little too subtle, but it is there...and my hands feel like silk when I wash them in this soap.
I have some all ready wrapped up for gifties (thanks to Joann who sent me some beautiful fat quarters). Charlotte is helping out with Christmas this year by making some dish cloths to go with the soaps.
My next batch will be lavender. I am going to Galena next week on a field trip with the kids, and will pick up a bag of dried lavender from my favorite shop there. A nice whip in the bullet blender and it will make the soap so nice! This batch of Cinnamon Oatmeal is going to be one that I will do again and again, I am sure.
I have a GIANT 150# box of soy candle wax in my storage room....maybe I need to get some candles made up too!!! Homemade Christmas, here I come!

This soap is amazing! I am glad it turned out so great!
The soap looks beautiful..bet it smells yummy too!! What a nice lesson for your kids!
Your soaps are just awesome, what wonderful gifts and candles would be good too. So did you post the recipe for the soap? Or is it a family secret?
Wow! VERY nice! I can remember my Grandma making soap in our basement. Her's was very industrial, though, and we used it for laundry. I still have a couple of bars left (it's probably 40 years old!) and I only use it when I really have to. It's a tangible thing that reminds me of my Grandma. :) Enjoy your beautiful soap - the recipients are going to be so blessed!
Love, Julie
Oh Bren, how lovely!! I love the *wrapping* for the soap ~ brilliant! Those fabric quarters must be the perfect size to do that! If I received such a neat looking gift, I would be tickled pink! Great job!
Hi
Oh they look beautiful!
I have all the supplies just have yet to do it.
Hope all is well on your little slice of heaven
It's good to learn a thing or two while making something like this. I must admit I was surprised to hear how it makes your hands so soft, the Lye word bring harshness to mind LOL.
Crispy
Mmmm, they look good!
