My childhood neighbor just turned 99 last month.
Lou was such a huge part of my childhood. She is a quilter and has dozens of quilt tops waiting for her to tie...she prefers to tie them. She offered one to me. I will be hand quilting it.
It is a "Trip Around the World" pattern and though it does not lay flat in most places, her points are perfect. If I am doing this well at 99 I will be content! I know the "puffs and puckers" will quilt down just fine. What a treasured gift!
My 15 pound block for The Fat Quilt will probably be another week or two. I have slipped....the last couple of days I have fallen off the eating clean wagon. It was not worth it. I sure can feel the difference. No more...I am back on.
I even have fresh veggies all cut up and ready to grab for an omelet or salad...makes it hard to just not do it right.
My son's friend has organic eggs at $2.50 a dozen. WOOHOO! I eat 2-3 eggs a day, so that is good. My kids LOVE eggs too.

My 15 pound block for The Fat Quilt will probably be another week or two. I have slipped....the last couple of days I have fallen off the eating clean wagon. It was not worth it. I sure can feel the difference. No more...I am back on.
Tonight my crockpot has sauce simmering for spaghetti and the bread machine has dough rising for pull apart bread.
It is one of my family's favorite dinners. I will be having lean ground beef, low fat cottage cheese and a nice salad.
Have you all entered my giveaway? If not, it is in the post just below this one. Even if you are not a quilter, you could make pillows, or use the panel and fabric I am giving away to make an apron...the possibilities are endless. You can also click on the scarecrow in that post and find 150 other giveaways. I have found some inspiring blogs while visiting....I am only 1/2 way through the list so far!

Lou is a doll! I love her smile! Wow...99! She is so sweet to give you that top!
Your dinner sounds good. We served that last night but with bread.
I am going to be working on my quilt tonight if I can get the baby bedded down and asleep for a long stretch! He has been a little sick and clingy with a cold for two days now.
Hugs and blessings,
Christi
What a darling neighbor! *Ü*
I too hope I will do as well at 99 as some of the older people I see...
I am so glad to have found you again and see all the gorgeous quilts.
You amaze me with your talent!
Please tell about the Clean Eating Diet~ have heard alot of people talking about it but don't really know much about it.
Wishing you a wonderful and blessed Wednesday!♥
Well bless her heart! Quilting at 99. What a wonderful influence she has had on you, and I am sure many others.
It was 62 in my house this morning, a little chilly but the high was near 80..finally Fall is here.

What a treasured gift! Gorgeous quilt top too!
Clean Eating is hard, but it's totally worth it. Funny how you can feel all that junk in your body as soon as you eat it again. It really changes your whole view point on food. Although just the thought of homemade spahgetti sauce and bread makes my mouth water! You're doing well, though, stay on that wagon and let's see that quilt!
What a wonderful gift!! Your hand quilting will certainly honor her creation :0)
It's good that you are back on track but IMHO if you truly crave something not listed on you diet, it can be your body saying it needs something.

What a blessing Lou is, and what a wonderful gift! I know you will turn a beautiful top into a gorgeous quilt! I am back on track also...5# down, now to make a new block...keep up the good work.
i'm going to make a trip around the world quilt one day because i think they are so stinkin' awesome
What a beautiful quilt top! I know it will be absolutely gorgeous once you're finished with the quilting. How precious that she shared this with you - a very sweet gift and lady.
It's finally like fall here! I'm loving it! We've had some crazy weather here, though, too. Even tornados!
Yes, I'm going to start eating clean myself and I'm anxious to start feeling better! Keep up the great work!
God bless you - Julie
