Meatballs in a creamed tomato sauce
Boiled Potatoes
Sauteed Onions and Green Beans
and
Homemade Peach Cobbler
Next were the meatballs. She got all her ingredients in the bowl and asked me which "spoon" she should use to mix it up. My response?..."Are you new here? Get those hands in that bowl and mix it up good!" She was afraid of that!!!
NOT her favorite part, but she got use to it and made the most perfect looking meatballs I had ever seen!
She had her potatoes peeled, cut up, and boiling on the stove while the meatballs simmered in the sauce she created. She got the french styled green beans and onions in the skillet with sweet butter.
If you have never had these, they are so easy and SOOOO good!
Charlotte's Peach Cobbler came out of the oven looking and smelling fabulous!
Her dinner was one of the best I have ever eaten! We added some Lipton Onion Soup mix to the meat mixture this time and, boy, was it good! She did a beautiful job of creating a wonderful dinner for the whole family. She was very proud of herself, and the joy on her face was worth millions!
PLUS she cleaned up the entire mess!!! I am going to LOVE Charlotte's dinner nights!

Great job, Charlotte!
My Karly loves to work in the kitchen.
Im going to let her start planning a meal as well.
Wow Charlotte did such a fantastic job...can I borrow her? It is so awesome for her and you can tell by the look on her face that she is so proud of herself...I am so proud of her too. Too bad we don't live closer, and I could borrow her once or twice a week.
I just almost cried at the beautiful post here. For you to see and tell of her in such a recognizable way. See I look at the heart of your daughter. As a woman with RAD it always saddens me to think to wonder if I were in Charlotte's shoes...I wore them once. Without the privilege of having a mother who would fight for my heart.
Seeing you fighting for her heart in this warms me greatly Bren. I am so proud of your ground gaining attitudes toward a wonderful child who just has a terrible 'limp'. Being a accepting celebratory influence is heart warming. Healing to me as well, that sense of self that identification with Charlotte now does not feel so inferior. I have often wondered if that is how she felt too, inferior. Now I see in her face pride in herself. She set out on mission with competence she accomplished it. On her own. She brought pleasure to you and others. I wonder about how she sees herself? Does she feel she belongs to you too the world around her affiliated?
Yes her mission is competently successful but does she have a sense of affiliation.
"I am so glad I belong to you and you belong to me" she can use to hear this more and more now.
I LOVE the pic of Charlotte not wanting to touch the raw meat!! I make that face too!
She should be very very proud of herself and she should send us the recipes and she should have all of us over for leftovers!!
an absolutely incredible meal, Bren! you have done an amazing job of getting that young lady ready for the kitchen! Goooooood for you!!!
Thanks for sharing, :o)

Way to go, Charlotte!
Her dinner looks delicious! I can totally relate to using your hands to mix the raw meat. I really hate that part of making meat balls or meat loaf. Ick!
Yeah, Charlotte!!! Good job!! The meal looks, and sounds, amazing.
Well done Charlotte! May you continue to make many more memorable meals.
Way to go Charlotte! I don't like to mix raw meat with my hands either!
Great Job, Charlotte! You can come cook for me anytime.
I love that skirt you're wearing, also.

Bren, My boy loves meatloaf...He came into the kitchen one night when I was mixing it with my hands...I guess he was a teen by that time..Anyway, it grossed him out and he swore he'd never eat meatloaf again...So wrong...not only does he eat it but he makes it for his family.

Bren, Charlotte looks so grown up. Her meal looks absolutely delicious! I can tell from the look on her face how proud she was of herself. Good job, young lady. Also, good job mama for encouraging her to spread her wings and try new things. LOL Didn't mean to rhyme there. Have a blessed Sunday. Winona

BTW my son pulled that face when i told him he had to push the dirty laundry under the water in the washing machine (it was old) LOL
