I walked into this in my hallway.....
A Lego guy hanging from a piece of rope. Thank goodness he was not hanging from his neck! He must have been on a rescue mission, and then forgotten.
He hung perilously from the second floor.
I made the BEST salad the other day. Just your basic salad, but I threw in a can of drained mandarin oranges. Something about Mandarin oranges in a salad.....the BEST!.JPG)
Sassy has the right idea.....
Find a patch of sun and take a nap!!!! I love this picture of her because you can see the chocolate in her coloring. She always appears coal black in pictures, but she has much brown in her. She is never left to peace for long. Someone always has a kiss or a pat for her!
She has learned that it is not necessary to even open an eye when this happens.
I have been thinking alot about my Grandmother. I miss her so much.
She was always someone you expected to be there. She was taken so suddenly that there was no time to think about life without her. I learned a lesson in that. I do not take any ones life for granted anymore. Still, I miss her terribly. I would have spent more time with her.....*sigh*
I do spend time with my mom. Today is our day out. We missed it last week. We are going for breakfast and then taking Zach shopping for his birthday....a tradition with the little kids. Zach will be 9 on Sunday, but he knows that means he gets a Thursday with Grandma too!
She will kill me for this pic, but I love it!! It shows the "kid" in her!
Finally, I will share the verse I am memorizing (again...thank you menopause!) this week:

"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
Isaiah 43:18-19
Is that a promise or what!!!!!!

Should have titled it "Whole lotta somethins" there was a lot of really good stuff in there Bren! You are an inspiration!
I usually have a boobytrap someplace. Like a whoopy cushion under my seat instead of soemthing hanging. Have fun on your outing. Chris
Life with boys!! I had a full-size GI Joe suction cupped to my fridge for more than a year!
I think the picture of your mom is very cute. Enjoy your day together today. Hug her for me, will ya?
G'morn Bren ~

Have a lovely day ~

Always love your pictures Bren! Also really appreciate how you share what the Lord is working in you. Wonderful verse!
Mmmm, is that cottage cheese next to your salad? I love that stuff. Tomorrow's shopping day maybe I'll sneak some in to the cart like I see the other kids in the store doing. Of course they're sneaking candy bars. Don't they know moms are less likely to spot the cottage cheese?
I love the Lego guy at your house. Occasionally I'll find one staring out from a hiding spot around the house. It can be a bit disturbing after awhile having their beady little eyes peering out from behind a picture frame :)
Your mom look so beautiful in the photo you took. I love it!

Yikes! What is in my coffee today?!?!?
I am SO ready for Fall too! I have a cold weather body, not a hot weather body!
Have fun with your Mom. Is that a Steak and Shake that ya'll are at? Yummm..have a chocolate milkshake for me please!
Bren, I love the picture of Zach kissing Sassy. So good to see kids that love their pets. I think this is a very good picture of your mom. Have fun on your outing with her. I hope Zach finds lots of goodies on his birthday shopping trip. Have a great day. Winona
I love the picture of your mom, reminds me of my mom and her lighter side....sure miss her!!
Wonder why LegoGuy was hangin' there? LOL.

Love the picture of your mom! She looks like a lot of fun.
We use mandarin oranges in our salads, too, along with some chopped pecans or almond slivers - so fresh.
I also love your verse you're memorizing. It was just right for me today!
And I'm not a summer person either. I've never liked being hot. I think fall is my favorite time of year!
Great post Bren! Speaking of lego guys, I bought Jak a farm set at Wal-mart that he wanted. He carried it all over the store. For months he has played with his farmer man. Oops, grandma doodle, (my new name) needs new glasses. It a a farmer girl. I never noticed till my son pointed it out. Yikes!!!!
Love the photo of Zach and Sassy. I am glad you spent time with your mom. Wish I lived near mine. Btw, her photo is so cute of her.
Have a great weekend! Karen
I agree, I think that shot of Zach and Sass is wonderful. I also like the last one of your Mom; she has no reason to dislike it, she looks great!
I echo what you said about Summer...one month of hot, dry days is quite enough for me..I'm counting the days to college football season because I know it will be the beginning of Fall...only Fall doesn't last very long...I took note that here in the South, last August was actually more pleasant than July which is unusual because August is our hottest month...I'm praying this year will be the same.
I love the photo of your Mom, too...look at her rolling her eyes..That's a very good verse...Happy Birthday, Zach!
Since I've been doing these scrapbooks, there have been so many things I wish I could ask Mother...I kick myself for not writing our story while my parents were still alive...I simply must rely on memory and I already know my memory and my siblings isn't the same.
