Time Alone

My little kids have Vacation Bible School this week, so my mornings are free. Yesterday, Kyle went to work and Sweetheart took his mom for outpatient surgery (everything went well!! PTL), so I was home alone. I had planned this out for days....I scheduled my time over and over again, changing and rearranging things in my few hours of solitude, not wanting to waste a moment. When it came right down to it, I had no clue what to do. I did get some time with my Heavenly Father, uninterrupted. That was awesome!
I also got a drawer cleaned out.Do you have things in your utensil drawers that you have no clue what to do with? I don't even know what this is, or what it does, but I know it has a use. I can't get rid of it until I know I won't need it. Anyone know what it does?I did a couple loads of laundry...got some table runners switched around for something different.
I started picking up in the family room, and came across Zach's Nintendo DS.....I started playing Bejeweled Twist and before I knew it 45 minutes were GONE!!!! And I played the whole time standing at the counter in the kitchen! Will I ever learn to relax??
My mom stopped in just before the kids were due home, and we went to grab lunch and brought it back here and then sat out in the sunshine on the deck.
The kids came home, after the fastest 3 hours in history, with McDonald Happy Meals (thank you Miss Candy) and backpacks they had made. They went again today and Sweetheart and I had the house to ourselves. Tomorrow will be the same. Thursday and Friday, Kyle will be here too, which is still like being home alone, cause he does his own thing....like sleeping in. Mornings are peaceful this week, that's for sure!!
Zach's birthday on Sunday was fun!He is growing up too fast. My baby.
Speaking of babies, my sweet baby, Emerson showed Grandma how to pick your nose like a lady at the dinner table..... Now for, little Miss Sassy-Pants, who followed me all over yesterday morning....everywhere I went, she was there. Once the kids got home she took her nap. She has taken lots of flack for putting on weight recently. She figures if she stretches out just so, her sleekness will be more apparent.Hmmmmm. Wonder if that will work for me!!??

Trying not to laugh that you spent 45 minutes playing Zach's video game....snicker.....trying very hard....snort.....I give up... HAHAHAHAHA! Glad you enjoyed your time even if it wasn't quite what you'd anticipated!

Let me know if the stretching out thing works for you......maybe, I'll try it too. Could I grow up instead of out?

Like Sassy, I'm not overweight, I'm undertall!!!

I think Sassy's got the right idea - just look longer and leaner - lie down and stretch out . . . yeah, that's it!

I know all too well how fast time gets away - it happens to me all the time!

Bren, I know what that little doohickey is. It is to take the center paddle out of your bread machine bread. You know sometimes the little kneading paddle comes out inside the bread. The little hook goes up inside the loaf of bread and then you can pull the paddle out. (grin) I have had to use mine several times. Glad you are getting a quiet week. Sassy may have something. She does look sleeker all stretched out like that. LOL Have a great day. Winona

I sure am glad Winona knew what that thing was... I didn't have a clue!!

So...was straightening out the drawer and playing the DS on that schedule? I wouldn't know the first thing how to even turn that DS on...

Alone time...sounds inviting! It means quilting time for me. I too have been organizing lately, and enjoying it a lot.

It is my first visit to your blog, and I enjoyed reading some posts I could identify with. Wishing you the best of blessings.

I saw that someone said the doohickey is for your bread machine. Maybe so, but I sell Gold Canyon candles and little doohickeys we call wick dippers You use them to dip thw wick in the molten wax rather than blowing out the flame. No black smoke that way. This gadget looks just like our wick dippers. ???
