Not a whole lot going on here today. Sweetheart has to work, so our Memorial Day is being spent just hanging around. Zach and Charlotte are doing some math and reading. Kyle is playing with Sassy and hanging out with the basketball and hoop. Me? I'm sewing leaves.

Just a lazy kinda day. The kids will play outside as much as they can stand to. It is suppose to hit 92 and it is already very humid. I am sure the shade will be the spot to be!

Charlotte plans to catch up on some school work she fell behind in. I am sure her embroidery needle will be in her hand at some point today....probably while watching The Waltons with her mother ;)

She is growing up so fast. It is hard to believe she will be 14 in a couple of weeks. She is all excited about church camp. She is working hard for the privilege to go...that means school has to be in good standing. She is finally putting on some weight. She is medication free for now, which makes her very happy!

For Memorial Day, I want to express my gratitude for all our military, past and present. What an honor to know that we have such courageous men and women defending us and our land. I want to share a picture of some of the men I want to remember on this day. These are my Great-Great-Grandparents, Charles and Nancy, along with their children. My Great-Grandfather is William...top right corner. Charles fought in the Civil War, and their youngest son (bottom row, center), Charlie, fought and died in WWI. He died in France, leaving behind a little girl, who was motherless. His mother Nancy, raised that little girl after her son died in the war.

Sacrifices have been made in war since the beginning of time, and they continue to this day. How important it is to remember.....
Now I am going to spend some time with an applique needle and some leaves while soaking in some Vitamin D from my sunny spot on the couch!!!

Hi Bren, Kevin had to work too, so he went in real early and got home about noon. We have weeded the whole garden and now we are just chilling in front of our computers. Charlotte is a young lady now. Glad she is doing well. Your quilt is looking good. I put my Daisy Star up as it is getting too hot to have it in my lap. I will work on smaller things till fall. Have a great day, my friend.
So enjoyed your pictures...gotsome cuties there!
Love seeing your kids...they are sure growing up! We are relaxing today too. and sewing on a binding!
Happy Memorial Day!
Hi,
I wanted to thank you for your comment on my blog, also I am very excited to find yours since I am starting to quilt and a bit overwhelmed with it. I love seeing your pictures, thank you!
beautiful quilt! you are so talented!
I love the new look of your blog. Nice and bright!
I am somewhat envious of your weather. I would like the heat but you can keep the humidity ;) We've had cool windy days interspersed with rain here and there. Totally weird for this time of year!
Charlotte is so cute! I love her outfit and pigtails, super, super cute!
Holy Cow, 92 degrees!! I'm happy we are finally going to hit 70 this week LOL. I can't belive Charlotte is going to be 14, I didn't realize she is the same age as my niece. I'm pretty sure Zach will be outside as much as he can even with the heat LOL.
You have such a lovely sunny area to quilt in, I wish I did!!
