Our weekend was full. Saturday I did a deep clean of the main floor of our home. It needed it! Doing housework with Sassy is a chore in it's self. She walks on my wet floors....
....she digs at the rugs.....
....and she chases Hazel's cord (until I turn it on)
I washed all the throw rugs and runners, and because it was so wet outside I had to toss them in the dryer.
Have I ever mentioned how much Sass loves the dryer? Anytime I am throwing clothes in, she wants to follow. We have to be VERY careful and watchful of that. We have a dryer rule here....do not press "start" unless you SEE Sassy outside the dryer! She will sneak in there before you can notice.
Charlotte helped with some cleaning....vacuuming the stairs and cleaning the upstairs bathroom. She worked on her bed cover.....
It is really beautiful. She has worked very hard on it.
Sweetheart replaced 3 screens....one in Kyle's room where Zach sliced it with a rotary cutter years ago (when it was my sewing room). One where Sassy dug a hole....no not the kitchen one. He replaced that one a while back. And the sliding screen door needed to be replaced. My oldest slammed it shut and it fell off the track and hit a corner of the patio chair putting a large hole in it. 28 years old and I still have to tell him to NOT slam the door.
It was not all work and no play last weekend. I was able to get some more quilting done.
Though the stitches do not show up, I was right in that the texture will be there. That makes it more tolerable.
We had a sweet visitor on Sunday evening.
Emerson came for a couple of hours while her Mommy and Daddy took her brother to see Shrek 4. She ate BBQ'd ribs, baked potato, and corn for dinner and then we took a nice long walk. When we got back, Charlotte and her friends kept her entertained for a while.
She is showing you her foot....the girls were painting each other's toe nails. Emerson kept putting her foot over for her toes to be painted....
....but would scream if they actually tried! Crazy girl! Here the big girls are standing behind me making faces at Emmie.
It was so good to see her, and TJ too. They will be at their Daddy's house for a whole 10 days next week. He is on vacation. Speaking of vacation.....I am going on my annual trip with my mom next week. We are returning to Galena. I can't wait!!!!

Wow Bren your Galena trip is coming up again already! Seems like just yesterday you gals went on that trip! Have a great time!!
Emerson is adorable! What is it about girls and nail polish?! My brother and sister-in-law are going to Brazil this week on a mission trip. My SIL packed nail polish for the little girls in an orphanage. ;D
Wowsers! I am so impressed with Charlotte's work on the bed topper. Working on something that large can be so monotonous. Good for her for sticking with it!
Enjoy your time in Galena. I know you and your mom always have a great time together!
How proud Charlotte must be of her creation, it is gorgeous, I love the colors.
Oh, Sass can be an experience I am sure. I've had many a 'sass' & they keep one on their toes constantly, but are such a comfort & joy.
Enjoy your trip with Mother, Bren. You deserve every moment of enjoyment.
Have a beau-TEA-ful week.

Wow, Charlotte has every right to be so proud of her work! That is funny...and scary about your kitty in the dryer! Watch out!
Bren, please tell Charlotte how beautiful I think her bed topper is. She is doing a great job. Warms my heart to see a young lady doing any kind of handwork. So glad she enjoys crocheting. Your quilt will be just fine. It looks like it will be one of those you love to run your fingers over. I love the last picture of Sassy. I can tell you, she is thinking about how much trouble she will be in if she digs another hole in a screen. LOL Have a wonderful time in Galena with your mom. Winona
I got the biggest kick out of Sassy tiptoeing across your wet floor! LOL And the dryer? Would a tumble or two convince her to stay out of it? Love the rule, though!
Charlotte's bedcover is beautiful! She's doing a great job on it. Looks like Sassy likes crochet as well as quilting! ;)
Glad you got to see the grandbabies this weekend!
so glad you had a good (and productive!) weekend! :)

It always so nive to "visit" with you Bren!! I had to laugh about Sass in the dryer, my Ruby has gone for a "spin" now we always check!!
Can't wait to see pictures from your trip. have a GREAT time!
I'm glad you're so careful Bren, my MIL lost her beloved cat this way, it was so so traumatic for her when she discovered it as you can imagine. Love the Emmie-girl pics she is so pretty and growing so fast :) xoxo mel
Goodness sounds like you have been VERY busy but having fun too (well, except for the house cleaning bit). Charlotte's bed cover is beautiful...well done!! That Emerson puts a big ol' smile on my face each time I see her. Did TJ enjoy the movie?
